The San Diego Model Railroad Museum is North America’s largest model railroad museum, with over 27,000 square feet of trains, trestles, and track in the heart of Balboa Park. There are exhibits depicting railroads of the Southwest in O, HO, and N scales, and an enchanting Toy Train Gallery. The layouts and exhibits show an eagle’s-eye view of our corner of the world, and encourage little engineers to build and transform something from nothing. SDMRM proudly offers educational programming for schools & scout groups that incorporates critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving.
We are OPEN Tuesday - Sunday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The museum is located on the lower level of the Casa De Balboa building, next to the Prado Restaurant and across from the lily pond in Balboa Park. Admission is available at the door, but online tickets are available and encouraged.
