San Diego hotels and the San Diego Convention Center are currently unaffected by fire at this time.
Sesame Place will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 25 as a precaution due to Border 2 Fire. At this time, the park plans to open on Sunday, Jan. 26. Please check their website for updates prior to your visit.
Our hearts go out to the first responders and communities in Los Angeles County affected by the devastating wildfires. In response to the devastation and displacement caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles, numerous San Diego-area hotels are contributing to fire relief by offering special accommodation rates and offers. In addition, San Diego attractions, museums, restaurants and nonprofits are pitching in with discounts and offers of assistance for those affected. Consult the listings below for details.
Eight San Diego bars and restaurants have joined forces to bring aid to affected Southern California communities through a special campaign: Dining for Disaster Relief.
From Wednesday, Jan. 15, to Friday, Jan. 31, participating restaurants will donate proceeds from select menu items to benefit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, which is providing critical food and resources to wildfire victims.
Here’s how you can support:
Cloak & Petal (Little Italy – 1953 India Street): Donating 100% of proceeds from the Tea Ceremony Cocktail and Master Roshi Roll.
The Original 40 Brewing Company (North Park – 3117 University Avenue): 50% of proceeds from January’s Burger of the Month.
Coco Maya (Little Italy – 1660 India Street): 50% of proceeds from their Chicken & Waffle dish.
PRK 101 (Carlsbad – 3040 Carlsbad Blvd.): 50% of proceeds from the Chicken N Waffle Sandwich.
The Lobby Tiki Bar & Grill and Cococabana (Oceanside – 408 Pier View Way): 50% of proceeds from their Chicken and Waffles dish.
Louisiana Purchase (North Park – 2305 University Avenue): 50% of proceeds from the Drop Top Chicken Flock dish.
Miss B’s Coconut Club (Mission Beach – 3704 Mission Blvd.): 50% of proceeds from the Chicken & Waffles dish.
The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank is collecting food and supply donations, requested by the LA Regional Food Bank, to be delivered the week of Jan. 20. The organization is committing resources from its Disaster Relief Fund to aid L.A.'s efforts. Visit this page for more information on how to help.
