The San Diego Padres’ Petco Park is America’s #1 Ballpark, as rated by USA Today — and the park’s delicious variety of food and drink plays a huge part in that acclaim.
Indulging in all the great grub and food at Petco Park, the Padres' park can be like taking a taste tour of San Diego’s best bites and beverages, from fish tacos to Tijuana-style hot dogs to top-flight local craft brews. Check out what’s on the menu, local foods and get ready to cheer for both the swingin’ Friars and the sensational food.
A full bar and a rotating selection of beers from the Alpine Brewing/Green Flash family — big local favorites — make this a great spot to get your craft-brew game on. What's more, the space has partnered with Grand Ole BBQ to offer a signature smoked hot link made with irresistible Argentinean-style choripán.
This Petco Park and San Diego mainstay pairs popular brews such as the Sculpin IPA with tempting menu items. Try the classic Baja fish taco, made with beer-battered fish, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo and chipotle sauce; or the Hot Hen fries, featuring seasoned fries topped with honey agave-dipped breaded chicken, hot hen spice, Fresno chili coleslaw, sliced bread & butter pickle and fuego hot sauce. For the 20th anniversary of Petco Park in 2024, Ballast Point also offers a limited-edition Anniversary Two-Pack, featuring the brewer's Swingin’ Friar Ale and a co-branded koozie.
Grilled corn (or elote) is a Mexican street-food favorite, and this Petco Park concept takes the delicacy to the next level with two new offerings. The Elote Classico comes with lime crema, cotija cheese, cilantro, fuego sauce and Tajin, the spicy-citrusy chili lime seasoning. And you've simply gotta try the Elote Especial, which adds a topping of Tajin Pop Rocks (trust us, it's amazing) along with a chicharron-carnitas stuffed jalapeno pepper.
Pacific sland-style eats meet refreshing craft brews in this newly inaugurated space. In partnership with Brandt Beef, Kona offers a savory Hawaiian short-rib bowl served with steamed rice, green onions, pickled daikon and carrot and furikake, all topped with signature Big Wave Sauce.
With three restaurants around San Diego, Puesto is a local favorite for authentic Mexican food at Petco Park. Step up to the plate for handmade organic tortillas, flavorful guacamole and award-winning tacos like the queso birria (shredded beef short rib) taco, and top it off with a tasty Cadillac margarita.
Baseball, an ice-cold cocktail from Cutwater Spirits and San Diego's clear blue or starry night skies — that's our idea of a triple play. This local distillery's Three Sheets Rum is crafted from pure cane sugar rather than molasses, and is a nice complement to any Petco Park outing.
San Diego's own Nova brings its delicious hard kombuchas (the Sexy Pina Colada is a classic) to Petco Park as part of the Craft Beers of San Diego program, at Craft Row on the ballpark's Main Concourse.
Another Craft Row entry, Vista-based WestBrew serves up such baseball-centric favorites as the Double Header and the Full Count IPA at its Petco Park location.
Cravory Cookies are familiar to any San Diegan with a sweet tooth. This is the place to go for delicious, fresh gourmet cookies with creative flavors, from lemon bar and salted caramel cream to German chocolate cake and donut glaze.
This foodie gem from Barrio Logan serves Tijuana-style, bacon-wrapped hot dogs on brioche buns. Chow down on Barrio Dogg's signature El Xolito hot dog covered with grilled onions, fresh-cut red onions, cheddar cheese, juicy Roma tomatoes, sour cream, salsa verde and Sriracha aioli.
Authentic, Texas-style barbecue is the hit at Grand Ole BBQ, which was born in trendy North Park. Choose from a menu of low- and slow-smoked meat sandwiches such as brisket, pulled pork, and their amazing Borracho fries.
Get your eyes on the pies at this purveyor of Roman-style pizzas, part of the Buona Forchetta family of Italian eateries. G&P, which serves up pizza varieties from Margherita to Meat Lovers, is one of several food stations situated in the Mercado at Petco Park, on the main concourse behind home plate.
Another great stop in the Mercado, An’s Gelato brings its signature San Diego flavors to Petco Park, in a space outfitted to look like the stadium grounds crew’s garage. An’s serves up such ballpark-exclusive varieties as “Clay” (Nutella and Brownie) and “Chalk” (Vegan Lemon and Almond Sorbet), along with top flavors from the company's hugely popular locations elsewhere around town.
The ballpark branch of Spiro's (whose original locations are in La Jolla and Coronado) boasts such fresh and healthy Mediterranean options as a traditional Greek gyro and a Horiatiki (aka Greek salad) bowl.
Sure, you can get pizza and beer at other stadiums, but not like this. Pizza Port is a beloved local food at Petco Park and a San Diego staple, known for its delicious slices and the craft beer it brews. A specialty slice and a Walk-Off Wheat (brewed to be poured at Petco Park) puts pizza and beer on a whole different level.
Seaside Market in coastal North County's Cardiff-by-the-Sea is famous for its tri-tip, affectionately (and feverishly) known as Cardiff Crack. The only place you can get the tri-tip on nachos, however, is right here at Petco Park. Seaside also offers such one-off delicacies as custom gummi bears.
Randy Jones was a southpaw pitcher who spent much of his career with the Padres, using his famous sinker to strike out opposing batters. Now he's famous for his barbecue sauce and grilled goods. The Slugger Dog puts other ballpark dogs to shame, weighing in at a whopping half a pound.
Hodad's is as San Diegan as tan lines and flip-flops. Locals swear by the burgers, but they're not the only ones. Food Network personality Guy Fieri is such a fan (once stating that their bacon is the best he's ever had) that he has his own item on the menu: The Guido Burger.
You can find Blue Water Seafood on the Terrace Level in the .394 by Alesmith bar. Enjoy a Track Taco with fresh caught shrimp grilled in chipotle butter and topped with Maui onion and mango slaw served on a fresh corn tortilla with melted cheddar, dressed with homemade white sauce, tomatillo sauce, and avocado finished with a pinch of queso fresco.
You may not think of cheesesteaks and San Diego as going hand in hand, but you might after stopping at Gaglione Brothers. Their classic cheesesteak can't be beat, with your choice of steak or chicken, grilled onion and American cheese. For extra flavor, grab an order of garlic fries.
Turn your Padres adventure into a bowl game with the awesome superfood açaí, courtesy of Sambazon and its tasty, plant-based açaí bowls. Not only does Sambazon offer such tempting varieties as the chocolate peanut butter bowl, berry bowl and protein bowl, it also serves up an açaí margarita.
If hot chicken is your thing, better wing your way over to one of two San Diego's Finest Hot Chicken ballpark locations for their specially created Petco Park signature sandwich, the Hot Hen. This fan favorite features seasoned crispy chicken topped with Fresno chile slaw, pickles and fuego sauce, and served on a brioche bun.
Negihama Sushi offers a variety of fresh-made, grab-and-go sushi in the park’s Mercado section.
San Diego’s venerable burgers-and-more behemoth is setting down stakes at Petco Park to serve up such fast-food faves as loaded tiny tacos, chicken strips, curly fries and mini churros. And don’t miss the signature Purple Haze cocktail — not something you can grab at your neighborhood drive-through.
Sandwiches are the stars and a tasty food option at Petco Park. A San Diego favorite for sandwiches, including such signature items as the turkado — a towering turkey sando topped with plenty of avocado.
Get your ice cream on the old-fashioned way with this Petco Park returnee’s swirly desserts, guaranteed to take you right back to kidhood (as well as take the edge off a balmy summer’s day at the ballyard).
Perfect for summer days and nights at the ballpark, this new frozen-drink concept comes in flavors from Mangonada to Strawberry Lemonade, available either with alcohol or in a "mocktail" version.
