As an Animal Care Supervisor for the world-famous San Diego Zoo, Rick Schwartz swears that even the animals have adopted the city's laid-back, friendly vibe.
Rick Schwartz is on a mission to help connect people to nature and inspire them to be good stewards of the environment, both locally and globally. A graduate of Moorpark College Exotic Animal Training & Management, Rick has held positions with Guide Dogs for the Blind and with the San Diego Zoo as an Animal Care Supervisor and Senior Zoo Keeper. Today Rick is San Diego Zoo's Animal Ambassador and travels around the world visiting conservation efforts and representing the San Diego Zoo and the Zoo Safari Park. He makes regular appearances with animals on television shows such as Good Morning America, NBC's Today Show, late night talk shows and other family focused programs. Rick is also the host of San Diego Zoo Kids a dedicated television channel providing 24 hour educational content for Children's Hospitals across America.
