Enjoy an evening on the Bay with tastings from top waterfront restaurants, while watching three of San Diego’s best chefs square off in a live Green Chef of the Bay cooking competition.
The event will highlight sustainable cooking including locally sourced ingredients and fresh fish. Enjoy live entertainment, drinks, and product demos. Space is limited and this event will sell out. Advance purchase of tickets is highly recommended.
New to Taste of the Port, and during VIP-hour only, VIPs will enjoy live demos provided by local fishermen. Watch Tommy Gomes from Catalina Offshore Products break down and drop some knowledge and insight on the seven cuts of meat from Opah. He’ll discuss the importance of utilizing a whole fish and knowing where your seafood comes from. Tuna Harbor Dockside Market will also demo how to shuck an oyster.
Taste of the Port is committed to diverting waste from the landfill including providing each attendee with a reusable bag and beverage glass as they walk into the event. This allows guests to utilize their beverage glass for all of the drink tastings featured at the event and eliminates single use cups. The Port is also partnering with San Diego State University to have composting on-site at the event. This will include being able to compost disposable dishware and cutlery utilized by tasting vendors during the event.
