San Diego horse racing takes place where the "turf meets the surf" at the Del Mar Racetrack. Fans flock to the track each summer to wager on their favorite horses during the popular, annual Del Mar Racetrack racing season, mid-July - early-September. Be part of the magic and nostalgia of this long-time horse race tradition dating back to 1937 when Bing Crosby greeted the first guests, and Seabiscuit won by a nose in the infamous race in 1938. This season features the nation's top racehorses, trainers and jockeys, and plenty of fun in the sun.

San Diego Beer Week is brought to you by the San Diego Brewers Guild, with participation from the region's local craft breweries, allied and affiliate members. Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a wonderful, whimsical musical based upon the classic Dr. Seuss book. Back for another incredible year, the family favorite features the songs “Santa for a Day,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” and “Welcome, Christmas (Fah Who Doraze),” the delightful carol from the popular animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Celebrate the holidays as the Old Globe Theatre is once again transformed into the snow-covered Who-ville, right down to the last can of Who-hash.

The 28th Annual Encinitas Chamber of Commerce Oktoberfest will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Mountain Vista Drive. This free and festive community event has a longstanding tradition of celebrating the German roots of our Encinitas area along with showcasing local artisan products, an authentic German beer garden with stage entertainment to include Bavarian music and dance troupes, German refreshments as well as an international food court, carnival ride attractions, and a recently added local craft beer garden. Our vendor section features exhibits from local artisans as well as Encinitas businesses. Located on Mountain Vista Drive off El Camino Real between Wandering Road and Rambling Road, this free festival spans 1/3 of a mile along Mountain Vista Dr., includes 175 vendors, and attracts attendees from all over San Diego County. This is a premier Oktoberfest in north San Diego County.
