San Diego Civic Youth Ballet (SDCYB) has held classes in Balboa Park since 1945, and was instrumental in passing a 1971 bond issue to rebuild the Casa del Prado building in Balboa Park and dedicate it to youth cultural activities. Our rich history as a classical ballet school has developed into a more holistic organization throughout the years to include education, performance, and community outreach. As a school, we provide students aged four through adult with affordable classical ballet instruction by a professional, experienced faculty. As an organization, we conduct weekly outreach programs at both our studios in Balboa Park and in the classrooms of San Diego primary schools.
