Evoking Mystery, an Art Exhibition

The San Diego Watercolor Society proudly presents “Evoking Mystery”, juried by award-winning artist, Alice Kayuha. The water-based media exhibition runs Nov 1-30, 2024, at our Gallery in The ARTS DISTRICT Liberty Station. The Opening Reception is Friday, November 1, 5-8 pm with over 95 ready-to-hang original paintings plus refreshments and the fellowship of other art enthusiasts. The Gallery is open Weds-Sun, 11am – 3pm.  The paintings can also be viewed and purchased online.  Please visit www.sdws.org for more information.

Blue Gold

Blue Gold: The Art and Science of Indigo presents indigo through stunning objects of creative expression and the astonishing study of a chemical reaction.

Blue Gold is among more than 70 exhibitions and programs presented as part of Getty’s 2024 PST ART initiative, Art & Science Collide. Discover the roles of botany, chemistry, ecology, and economics in indigo cultivation and dive into a deeper appreciation for blue hues. Through workshops and talks led by local artists, including a Master Craftsman Lecture with Porfirio Gutiérrez and Dyeing Classes with Sarah Winston, be immersed in the world of indigo. There is magic in the transformation from plant to pigment.

Blue Gold is on view until March 2025.

Bernardo Winery Farmer's Market - Every Friday 9-1

Every Friday morning, we have a farmer's market in our lower parking lot! 9-1pm. With local farmer's, artisans, ethnic food, handmade goods and more.

Grab a coffee at Manzanita Roasting Company (open 9-4ish) and pick up all your goods, while enjoying the winery grounds. The winery opens for wine and food at 11, and you can make reservations to join us for that as well. www.bernardowinery.com for wine and food reservations.

Surfin' Santa at Seaport Village

Nov 30, 2024

On Saturday, November 30th, 12:00pm-4:00pm Surfin’ Santa will break out his boardshorts and favorite Hawaiian shirt to spread holiday cheer in true SoCal fashion!  Bring the whole family and be sure to arrive early to snag a spot on the boardwalk for Santa's grand entrance, as he cruises in from the San Diego Bay by watercraft and leads a festive parade to the fountain courtyard.

Visitors can pose and have a free downloadable picture taken with Surfin’ Santa on his giant surfboard, riding a six-foot wave. After Surfin’ Santa has ridden his last wave he will lead guests along the boardwalk to witness the first snowfall of the season at Malibu Farm.
