More than 150 fine artists' work will be featured, along with interactive art for families at KidsWalk, a full palette of musical performers, food trucks and stands, and more. 

The Maritime Museum of San Diego invites you to join us for Tall Ship adventure sailing! This is a four-hour adventure history sail aboard the schooner Californian.
The Californian is a replica of a gold rush era revenue cutter and the Official Tall Ship of the State of California.

Arrive early to take in your general admission visit to the entire fleet and exhibits, then set sail! 

Join the crew in sailing a traditionally rigged tall ship! Passengers will be invited to haul a line, man the helm and watch the crew as they scamper up and down the rigging to set and furl the sails. Listen as the Californian’s crew relates the history of sailing and exploration in San Diego, tales of whaling and sea otter trade, local sea battles, the art of ship’s gunnery, life at sea and more.

This October Halloween Aglow returns to Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego for two nights of Halloween fun with an educational twist. The event takes place October 25 and 26 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Modeled after Oceans at Night, the aquarium’s popular adults-only event, Halloween Aglow celebrates the wonders and mysteries of the ocean after dark in a fun family-friendly atmosphere. After the sun goes down, the aquarium will transform into a glowing nightscape featuring live music, a costume contest and trick-or-treat stations. In 2014, Dr. Ashley was recognized with lifetime achievement awards by both the Maritime Alliance in San Diego, and the International Maritime Heritage Alliance, for the construction of the Galleon San Salvador. In recognition for his efforts in building the San Salvador, Dr. Ashley was knighted in 2016 with the rank of Knight Commander, Order of Isabella la Catholica by direction of his majesty, King Felipe VI of Spain.
