The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) offers access to the very best art of our time in two iconic locations. The downtown campus captures the energy and vibrancy of the city with site-specific installations by artists Jenny Holzer and Richard Serra, and soaring exhibition spaces that once housed the baggage building for the historic Santa Fe Depot. MCASD provides an unprecedented variety of experiences for the community, showcasing an internally recognized collection and a dynamic schedule of exhibitions and public programs.
The Museum offers free with admission public tours at the Downtown location at 2:00 PM on Saturdays.
Both locations also host Free Third Thursdays, offering free admission and extended hours at both locations on the third Thursday of the month from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, with a complimentary exhibition tour at 5:30 PM. Visitors can receive half-off admission any day of the month by arriving by bicycle or taking public transit.
Whether visiting MCASD La Jolla or Downtown, what visitors will find is the same: rotating exhibitions of world-class art, compelling public programs, and works from the Museum's permanent collection by promising emerging talent and major figures in the international contemporary art scene.
