The PGA TOUR’s Farmers Insurance Open is played annually at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, home of the 2008 & 2021 U.S. Open. Calling all new recruits! Join a local guide and get an inside look at what it was like to join the navy. Learn some sailor skills, explore the buildings essential to training, learn fun facts about the recruit experience, and gain an understanding of the history of the Naval Training Center. Cap off the tour with a snack and your very own certificate of “graduation.”

Tour Highlights

Learn important sailor skills without having to drop and give us 20
Explore recruit life by visiting buildings essential to training such as barracks, the mess hall, and other facilities
Using historic photos, we’ll compare the recruit experience with the modern-day visitor’s experience

Did you know that San Diego provides foraging habitat for the Eastern Pacific green sea turtle? This small feeding population consists of about 60 individuals, and we will be on the lookout for these beautiful creatures while paddling through the Chula Vista Wildlife Reserve. Our naturalist guide will point out marine and bird life and teach you about local ecology and conservation efforts.

All equipment is provided: Kayak, life vest, binoculars, and field guides.
