Join us for a captivating evening with the Pacific Trio, featuring three distinguished masters of traditional Chinese instruments and repertoire—David Liu on zheng (a plucked zither), Celia Liu on pipa (a plucked lute), and Qi-Chao Liu on dizi (a bamboo transverse flute). Together, they bring the rich soundscape of traditional Chinese music to life, blending classical techniques and repertoire with their own unique artistry. From the delicate tones of the zheng to the vibrant melodies of the pipa and the expressive voice of the dizi, the Trio’s performance will provide a glimpse of the beauty and depth of the Chinese musical heritage.

The GRAMMY Award-winning Third Coast Percussion has commissioned international tabla superstar Zakir Hussain to compose a major new work that blends the sounds of tabla with a classically trained percussion ensemble. A shared spirit of collaboration and curiosity reverberates among the five artists who will share the stage for the first time as part of a special double bill concert presentation.

Part of Third Coast Percussion’s 20th Anniversary season, this tour also brings new works by Jessie Montgomery, Jlin, and Tigran Hamasyan, with multiple premieres including at Carnegie Hall.

Jahari Stampley is a rising star in all capital letters. Become immersed in the cool, head-bopping rhythms of this young pianist who has already won some of today’s most prestigious awards. Jahari began playing piano at the age of 14 and quickly swept through the music world winning many competitions, performing solo concerts internationally, and touring with renowned artists such as Stanley Clarke, Derrick Hodge, and Keyon Harrold, among many others. Winner of the 2023 Herbie Hancock Institute International competition and awarded the 2023 Luminarts Fellowship, a 2023 Chicago Symphony Orchestra Honoree, and the 2023 Chicagoan of the Year in Jazz by the Chicago Tribune, Jahari Stampley is emerging as a modern innovator in the jazz piano world.
