Since its inception in 2010, Quigley Fine Wines has earned a reputation amongst its loyal clientele for sourcing high-quality, small-production, hand-crafted wines from around the world. With respect to the environment, their mission is to select wines from vineyards and wineries that practice sustainable farming, seeking winemakers who use biodynamic and organic methods of producing wine. Led by passionate oenophiles, Brendan and Christina Quigley and Jeff and Mary Shapiro, Quigley Fine Wines’ portfolio continues to evolve with a deliciously unique array of wines from Italy, France, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, California and Oregon.
The exclusive purveyors of boutique wines from sustainable, family-owned vineyards, Quigley Fine Wines aims to use this new venture to bring unique varietals from around the globe to customers in an approachable and educational environment. The tasting room is the first of its kind in San Diego, designed to be comfortable and welcoming. The giant teak tasting bar resting atop used wine barrels, wine barrel tables, community tables, large leather wingback chairs, and warm lighting lend the space an intimate speakeasy feel. String lighting and large wood and metal chandeliers add to the space’s rustic ambiance.
In addition to international wines, guests may also enjoy vintages crafted by top California and Oregon winemakers. As well as offering tastings and retail services, the tasting room is available as a conveniently located, private event space in Downtown San Diego. The main tasting room accommodates parties of up to 35 people, while the private tasting space accommodates up to 10 guests. Private event clients may select a custom wine menu that includes wine flights, bottles, or by-the-glass options. The tasting room is 21 and over only.
