Michael O’Donohue

Michael is the Managing Director of the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, where he oversees operations for the 21-acre beachside resort, which includes the exclusive 90-room La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, the 128-room La Jolla Shores Hotel, and the award-winning Marine Room Restaurant. With more than three decades of experience in luxury hospitality, O’Donohue has built a reputation for driving exceptional guest experiences, cultivating strong organizational cultures, and delivering record-setting financial performance.

Since joining the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club in 2021, he has led key initiatives across the company’s hotels and restaurants, including the introduction of new food and beverage concepts and the continued evolution and renovation of the properties.

Prior to joining La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, O’Donohue served as General Manager of Fairmont Grand Del Mar. He previously spent nearly five years with Montage International as General Manager of Pendry San Diego, where he led the opening of the flagship property. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, as well as positions with InterContinental Hotels Group and Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

O’Donohue began his hospitality career in the culinary field after earning his degree from The Culinary Institute of America and currently serves as a board member of the San Diego Tourism Authority and Vice Chair of the California Hotel & Lodging Association Hospitality Foundation.
